1. Create a new 165x165 pixel document and name it Scanline Text. Now press D fill the document (with Black). Create a new layer, then, create a horizontal type mask, press X and then fill (with white). Then apply a drop shadow with THESE SETTINGS.

2. Then apply an inner shadow with THESE SETTINGS. Then apply a bevel and emboss with THESE SETTINGS.

3. Yes, more blending options. Apply a satin with THESE SETTINGS. Then apply a pattern overlay with THESE SETTINGS. Now the pattern you select is one pixel black, one pixel transparent. Then [1.click on the down arrow, 2. then to the right of the popup window where there is a circle with an arrow, click that, 3. then 'Load Patterns'.] If none of that made sense, thats good. those numbers correspond to THIS PICTURE to help you on your way.

4. Lastly, apply a stroke with THESE SETTINGS. That gives the text the outline it needed. Now you should have come cool looking text. If you want it on a black background, just change the drop shadow to white, and the blending mode to normal.
