I was just messing around with Photoshop and some layer styles I had (probably got them from different tutorials I've done), and for some reason I started making this logo (it may be more like a banner, though). I think it looks quite nice, so here's how you make it:
Using your elliptical marquee tool shown above. Hold shift and create two full circles with their own layers.
Open the picture of your car in one document and create a new document 300 width and 100 height.
Now switch to your second created document, select the Polygonal Marquee Tool and start off like I have done below. I messed around trying to get a perfect badge...
