Open up a new document. Make it 650 px by 150 px.
Select the rounded rectangular tool which is under the text tool. Right click it to see other shapes.
Now right click the layer and go to Blending options.
Click on Gradient Overlay.
Click the Copper gradient.
Make the angle 90.
Click inner shadow and only change the settings I give you:
Distance: 12
Choke: 0
Size: 29
Now go to Bevel and emboss.
Type in these settings:
Depth: 1000
Size: 15
Soften: 10
Angle: 101
Press Ok.
Layer - Flatten Image.
Use the magic eraser and click on the white background.
Now press ctrl U.
Type in these settings:
Hue: 25
Saturation: 25
Lightness: 5
Go to Layer - New Layer.
Make a selection at the top of the header with the Elliptical marquee tool.
Get out the gradient tool again. Choose the very first one and edit it.
Make the black this color: 8F6F26
Drag from the bottom of the selection to the top. Make sure the opacity is
30. Now click ctrl then your header layer. Go to select - Inverse.
Then click delete. You should now have something like this:
You can give it more of a glossy effect with the lighting effects filter.
It's under Render. (This is optional!)
Now lets add some text.
I am using a font called 04b08. You can download it at dafont.com.
Set the blending options to overlay. And that's it! Here's how mine turned out:
