Creating the metal smooth effect

Author: Swish-db.com More by this author

Okay everybody, lets get started.

So, first here we go..

1.Open-up a new image, 400x400px will do fine

2.Set the background to: 3A3A3A & the foreground to: FFFFFF

Like below:

3.Select the Rounded Regtangle Tool, as shown below:

Set the smoothness of it to about 12, as shown below:

4.Now, create your button area to work with, you can create something like mine, as shown below:

4.Open up the Blending Options, as shown below:

5.Go to Bevel & Emboss, and use my settings as below (Here is where you might want to differ, but i suggest use these, as this will happen again - Where you can change to whatever you want on repeat).

6.Go to Inner Glow, Outer Glow & Gradient Overlay and apply these settings below:

Inner Glow:

Outer Glow:

Gradient Overlay:

You may want to repeat the Blending Options a few times to get a better effect & build on it, try changing the settings for each ones.

However, don't forget to merge the current finsihed layer into a new layer, so you can apply new "Blending Options"

Good luck & love to see your tries. See my final result below.
