1. First off make a new document and fill the background with a dark gradient (My document is 400px by 300px, the gradient in the background is #222222 to #131416)
2. Make a new layer then make a set-sized selection of 220px by 110px in the middle of the document.
Fill the selection with the following gradient:
#d02223 to #650b0b.
3. On a new layer with the pen tool
make a path-selection like so:
With the pen tool still out, right-click the path and go to "Make Selection" use the default options.
On a new layer use a large soft brush and brush inside of the selection.
Use the Rectangular Marquee Tool to select then delete the white outside of the main box.
Now use a large, soft brush to erase a few parts to give it a nicer look.
Set the layer mode to Overlay and change the layer opacity to what you see looks good.
Use the same method to make a smaller, more basic dark inset in the middle like so:
3. I used the font South Park and add some text in the middle. Get the font from DaFont.com.
Add the following Drop Shadow.
Add some more smaller text with a more standard font (Tahoma 9pt)
Use the same drop shadow except change the distance to 1.
That's about it for this one.. you could add some more detail with patterns maybe.
