Ever want to
chisel a line onto your interface instead of making it look like it
doesn't belong there? Well, you can learn how to createw a chiseled or
inset line here. Step-by-step instructions proceed...
1) Open up a new image, maybe 150x30 and fill your new image with a darkish gray. Use Alt+Backspace for easy fillin'.
2) Create a new layer, Layer>New>New Layer, (call it 'black line') and select the pencil tool
.
Make sure the color is black and the width is 1px. Now, holding SHIFT,
draw a straight line fom top to bottom. Should look like this...

3) Now, make a new layer and name it 'white line'. Slect your pencil
again, but this time set the color to white. Draw a straight white line
straight down the image (make sure it is on the 'white line' layer).
Move your white line right beside the black line (if you haven't
already) by using the Move tool and the arrow keys.

4) It still doesn't look chiseled, eh? So open up your Layers Palette
(Windows>Layers) and select the 'white line' layer. Reduce the
opacity to about 40%.

5) It's complete but adding a touch won't hurt, will it? Here is what I did...
