Making Layout

After a long break I'm ready again. I doesn't hope you guys have forgot all the Photoshop-stuff. If you have it doesn't really matter. This tutorial is quite easy.

We start where we used to start by opening a new document - white background. My size is 1024x768 px. If your layer is named "Background" in layers-palette double click it and OK. We're going to add some black scanlines on the layer.

When you have made them, go to Layer > Layer Style > Pattern Overlay and pick the black scanlines. Set Opacity=15%.

Create a new layer and pick Rectangular Marquee Tool. Make a selection from the top of the document to the bottom and with a nice width. Mine is 600 px. width. Fill the selection with #FFFFFF. Go to Layer > Layer Style > Stroke and set it to 1 px. - grey - outside.

Next step is about banner and logo. Find a you like and fit it into the main site. My banner is 600x125 px. with a grey small stroke. The banner is placed a bit from the top so the logo can be there.

Menu plus stuff are next step. I've used Trebuchet MS, #7BA227, in the menu. I've made a small green line under the banner. It helps menu and main text from each other. Create a new layer and pick Rectangular Marquee Tool. Make a selection to the line and fill it with green.

At the end we just need main text to the site. My text is coloured #757575.
