Our Header

This tutorial will take you step by step on how to create a website header like ours.

1. First of all, start out with a picture... we just used 320 x 120 pixels as our example.

Start off with a starfield background... this has to be pretty dark. I made mine on photoshop a while back, you can get the final image by clicking here .

Ok, put this onto your header background, scale it down if you like:

2. Now, take your logo... you need to make so its overlapping the top and bottom. Make the logo white, ( Image > Adjustments > hue/saturation // lightness = +100) and set the blending options (on the layers palate) to overlay. Now, put the opacity down to about... 65%

3. You can actually repeat this... only, make your logo a little smaller, best to put it to the other side also.

4. Okok, now... make a new layer (layer > new > layer) and name it 'stars'

5. Now, with your shape tool (shortcut: U) and your foreground colour set to white : make little stars all over your image. We don't need them over lapping though, try and get some variations in sizes.... you can then set your blending options again to overlay.

6. Next, we need to put our logo on... This needs to fit onto your canvas, and be black. (image > adjust > hue/saturation - lightness = -100)
