Stylish Silver Menu

1. New document. 200x300 pixels. White background. Too easy? Carry on...

2. Using the Pen Tool (Press P), draw a basic shape for your menu. Here is mine.

3. Open the Paths Palette, right click on Work Path and select Make Selection.

4. Set your foreground colour to black, #000000.

5. Create a new layer.

6. Fill the selection with black by hitting Alt + Backspace.

7. That is the hard labour over, now for the easy photoshop effects! Set your foreground colour to white #FFFFFF and your background colour to #B7B7B7 before proceding. Now, right click on your layer, and select Blending Options.

8. Go to Drop Shadow and use the following settings.

9. Next, go to Bevel and Emboss and use these settings.

10. Next, click on Gradient Overlay and once again copy my settings.

11. Finally, select Stroke and match these settings.

12. Phew! Hopefully yours looks something similar to mine.

13. Using the text tool, type your text up the top. Something like Menu, or Nav, or Content, or Links will do nicely. Add a few :'s to be cool like me.

14. Finally, add a divider either just under your text, or you can put it under each menu item to seperate them. I made mine by drawing 2 lines, both 1px each with the Pencil Tool (Press B). The top line is #CCCCCC in colour, and the one directly below it is #FFFFFF (white). It is hard to see the 2 lines, so zoom in a bit to draw them.

15. There you have it! All finished! Hope this helped you in some way. Try this tutorial again with a different shape, or maybe even make a banner to match your menu! Here's my final.
