Expanding Text


Step 1

Create a document and type something up on layer one. Press F8 and convert it to a graphic.

Step 2

Select the text/symbol and press Ctrl+C to copy it. Now make a new layer and press Ctrl+V to paste it. Make sure this new text on layer 2 is directly aligned with the first text. Now, insert a keyframe at frame 30.

Step 3

At frame 30, select the Free Transform Tool and enlarge the text. Make sure you hold down shift while enlarging it.

Step 4

Click on your text and near the bottom at its properties, select ALPHA for Color. Set it to 0%. Right click anywhere between frames 1 and 30 on layer 2 and add a motion tween. Finally, make a keyframe at layer 60 for layer 1. Click somewhere on the stage and at its properties make sure the Frames Per Second is Set to 30. Press Ctrl+Enter to view it.
