Flash Shadow Effect


Creating a simple shadow effect in flash mx 2004 in a simple and fast way with astonishing result is never easier. Today you will learn how to create the following shadow effect in flash mx professional 2004.

Okay, let us now begin our flash shadow effect.

1. Open up a new flash document

2. Open up the property inspector and click on Size button to change size to 300 by 80

3. Click on Text Tool on the flash Tool Window or press "T" on your keyboard

4. Change the Text setting in the flash property inspector to "Impact", size of "40" and color as "black" respectively

5. With the setting in flash property setting above, click on the main stage and type "CAMBODIAXP"

6. Click on Arrow Tool on the flash Tool Window or press "V"on your keyboard

7. Select the "CAMBODIAXP" word you have just typed by clicking or it. It is selected when you see a light blue rectangular around it

8. Copy the word by using your mouse's right click and select "copy"

9. Now insert a new layer, do this in timeline

10. Click on Layer 2 to make sure it is selected (You want to pasted the newly copy word into this layer)

11. Click inn the main stage, use mouse's right click and choose "paste in place"

12. Click on the newly pasted word "CAMBODIAXP", on layer 2 and open up the property inspector and change the color to any color you like other than "black". I choose light orange in this case.

13. With flash Arrow tool still selected, click on the newly word on layer 2.

14. Use the arrow key on your keyboard to move up two pixels and to the right by another two pixels.

15. Test your movie by pressing "Ctrl+Enter"

You have just created a shadow effect in flash mx professional 2004. In summary, to create this flash shadow effect, you have to create two identical words and place them on different layers. Next, change the two layers word into different colors; usually the more contrast of the two colors the better the shadow effect. In order to see the shadow, you have to move one layer to a different location in the flash main stage.
