Exchange Swatches

Learn how to save swatches from one CS2 application and then load them in another one! You're able to exchange swatches from one application to another within the CS2 suite of products.

Step 1

I opened up my logo design and right now my swatches palette is empty.

Step 2

With the Eyedropper Tool, I click on the first color I want to save. It appears as the Fill color in my Tools. I then drag this color into the Swatches palette.

Do this for each color you'd like to use. Here's what I have in my Swatches palette.

Step 3

Now click the arrow on the Swatches palette and choose the "Save Swatches for Exchange" option. Name it and save it to a folder of your choice.

Step 4

Now you can open this swatch up in any of the other CS2 applications! For example, if you want to use it in Photoshop, go to your Swatches palette and click the arrow and choose "Load Swatches". Make sure the "File of type" is set to "Swatch Exchange". Navigate to where you saved your swatch and select it. Now the swatches are available to you!
