The Vertical Type Tool creates and edits vector-based text in a separate layer:
- In the Toolbox, select the Vertical Type
Tool. - Set on the Options bar font options: family (style), size, color and anti-aliasing method*.
- Click on the image and type.
- While you are typing, the cursor looks like this
,
so you can adjust typed text position without changing the tool. - To edit previously typed text, select in the Layers palette corresponding type layer and work like with conventional text editors.
* More type options are available on Character (drop-down
menu: Window > Character) and Paragraph ( Window > Paragraph)
palettes.
