Here's our end result:

First have your text ready:

image 2

Duplicate it, then rasterize it, then flip it vertically:

image 3

Now select the move tool and press down until you get something like this:

image 4

Okay, now select free transform and hold shift, ctrl, and alt, then click on the lower-right box and move the cursor to the right. This gives the reflection more depth than your typical reflection. I would suggest doing a little more than I did, but don't over-do it:

image 5

Now hit the commit button, then add a layer mask to the reflection layer. Select the gradient tool with the default "Black, White" gradient. Hold shift, then pull the gradient tool from the bottom of the text to the top. Then play around with the opacity, but make sure its not too high or else it'll look like a long shadow (another great effect)- I set mine to 30%:

Now, to add a better effect and enhance a glass floor look, I'm going to add a leaf falling to the floor. Put the leaf higher than the text:

image 7

Now duplicate, flip vertical, and now the important part. Align the top of the reflection layer with the text's reflection layer. This enhances the effect of having a glass floor and makes it more realistic:

image 8

Now do the same layer mask/gradient effect. You're done! Remember to use the free transform technique for objects that are close to the floor, but not for ones higher than the floor- most of the time for me it didn't look as realistic.

Hope you learned something new!
