Atomic Structure

Step 1.

Create a new 450X350px document with the black background.

First we have to create an atomic nucleus. Choose the Gradient Tool (Radial Gradient) and set "Lighten" of the blend mode and try to draw an atomic nucleus like in the pic.1.

Step 2.

Apply Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation and use the following settings: Hue->13; Saturation->20; Lightness->0, Colorize -> ON.

Now we have to create neutron orbits. Now create a new "Layer 1", choose the Elliptical Marquee Tool, make a circle holding Shift and fill it (apply Edit > Fill) with the light-blue color. Apply Select > Modify > Contract (contract by 6 pixels) and press DELETE. Apply Select > Deselect.

Step 3.

Apply Edit > Transform > Scale, narrow the "Layer 1" and turn it a little. Duplicate "Layer 1" tree times to get four identical rings and turn them in different angels. And that's it.
