This is a tutorial for beginners looking for tutorials on how to make forum signatures.
Make a new document any size.
Reset your colors, then render some clouds
Make a new layer above it and brush the layer to about this, (I used some grunge brushes, but it really doesn't matter):
Then, do a Radial Blur and use these settings:
Make another new layer and do a little less brushing, then do a Motion Blur and use these settings:
Now pick a render you want to use and move its layer above the rest. Make sure it is smooth and not jagged from your cutting it out. I normally use the polygonal lasso tool to cut out renders, but the pen tool is good for rendering too.
Now we need to blend it in to your sig. There are two good ways to do this. Either add a layer mask and lightly brush around the edges with black until it looks blended enough, or you can do it this way: Grab your polygonal lasso tool and set the feather somewhere from 20-30 pixels and draw around your render. Then, inverse the selection and press delete from 2-4 times. Here's what I've got so far:
Now add a color balance layer and pick a nice color for your sig, but don't be afraid to use more than one color balance layer.
Add some text, do a little tweaking to it to make it look nice- you know, little bevel and embossing here and there, some inner shadowing, drop shadow, gradient overlay, etc. Make sure it goes with the sig color by putting it under your color balance layer.
Adding a 3-pixel border makes this type of sig look best. To do this, make a new layer above all the rest, and grab a marquee tool. Select All and add a 3-pixel black inside stroke, then a 2-pixel white inside, then a 1-pixel black inside stroke. Grab the magic wand and select the middle, white pixel and right click. Press 'Layer via Cut' In the new layer, change the layer's blending mode to soft light.
Here's my final product:
Hope you did well!
