Step 1
Download this image and open it in Photoshop. If you want to change the size of your image go to Image > Image Size.
Step 2
Download the Badges vector pack from the Talk-Mania shop and open the .AI file in Illustrator. Select a badge that you like using the Selection Tool (V), copy it (Ctrl+C) and then paste it into your Photoshop document as a smart object (Ctrl+V). Name this layer "shield", put it inside a group (Ctrl+G) and name the group "shield" too.
Step 3
Double-click on the "shield" layer to open the Layer Style window and use the settings from the following image.
Step 4
Download the Wings vector pack and open the .AI file in Illustrator. Select a wing that you like, copy it (Ctrl+C) and paste it into your Photoshop document as a smart object (Ctrl+V). Use Free Transform (Ctrl+T) to change the size of this wing and rotate it the way you want. Then duplicate this layer (Ctrl+J), go to Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal and move this new wing to the other side of the shield. Make sure that you have the wing layers beneath the shield layer.
Step 5
Add a layer style to each wing with the settings from the following image.
Step 6
Select the Type Tool (T) to write anything you want on your shield using the color #5f9ca3. Double-click on your text layer to open the Layer Style window and use the settings from the following image.
Step 7
Duplicate the "shield" group (right-click on it and select Duplicate Group). Right-click on this new group and select Convert to Smart Object. Drag this layer beneath the "shield" group. Then go to Filter > Blur > Radial Blur and use the settings from the following image. Name this layer "shield radial blur" and set its blend mode to Linear Dodge (Add) 80%.
Step 8
Create a new group and name it "rays." Then download these brushes and install them. Create a new layer, set the foreground color to white, select the Brush Tool (B) and create some rays. Set the blend mode of your rays layers to Overlay or Normal.
Step 9
Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Channel Mixer and use the settings from the following image.
Step 10
Create a new layer, go to Image > Apply Image and click OK. Right-click on this layer and select Convert to Smart Object. Go to Filter > Blur > Radial Blur and use a radius of 3px. Add a black mask to this layer (Layer > Layer Mask > Hide All), select a big white soft brush with the opacity of 30% and paint with this brush over the edges of your image. This will make the gaussian blur filter visible only where you paint with the white brush.
