Create Wooden Bin Icon


Step 1
Open new document. Create new layer, call it "golden area 1?. Use Pen tool draw the image as show below.

Create new layer under "golden area 1?, call it "wooden area". Use Rounded Rectangle tool (Radius: 20px) to draw as show in the images below.

Step 3
Create new layer upon "wooden area", call it "golden area 2?. Use Pen tool to draw the following below.

Step 4
While holding Ctrl click on the "golden area 1? to obtain its selection. Go to menu Select > Modify > Contract, set Contract By: 10px. Then create new layer on top, call it "golden area 3? and fill it #d9bb14.

Use Burn tool (setting as in image below) to make some gradient on "golden area 1?. Arrows show the gradient.

Use Burn tool (setting as in image below) to make the dark area on "golden area 2?.

By any way you should make the selection as the image below. This selection is like the selection of "golden area 1? but it is smaller.

The default is "area 1? selection. If you want to choose "area 2? selection, you have to press Ctrl + Shift + I. Use Burn tool (setting as in image below) to add more details on "golden area 3?.

Add the layer style to "golden area 3?.

Use Burn tool (setting as in image below) to make some gradient on "golden area 2?. Arrows show the gradient.

Set Brush tool: white color, hard brush, 3px, Opacity: 100% and Flow: 90%. Create new layer on top, call it "light 1?. Then use Pen tool to draw the line as show below.

Go to menu Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur, set Radius: 1px. Go to menu Filter > Blur > Motion Blur, set Angle: 0 degree and Distance: 10px. Then change its Blending Mode to Overlay and reduce Opacity to 50%.

Create new layer upon "light 1?, call it "light 2?. Flow the images below to make the "light 2?.

Select "golden area 1? and "golden area 2?, right click on these layer and choose Duplicate Layers. Press Ctrl + E to merge 2 new layer into new one, rename it "golden area 1+2?. Then change its Blending Mode to Multiply and reduce Opacity to 30%.

Create new layer upon "golden area 1+2?, call it "golden area detail". While holding Ctrl click on "golden area 1+2? to obtain its selection. Then follow the images below the add more detail to golden area.

Press Ctrl + J to duplicate "golden area 3?, rename new layer "golden area 3 multiply". Then change its Blending Mode to Multiply and reduce Opacity to 50%.

Add wood texture upon "wood area" and hide "wood area".

Use Burn tool (setting as in image below) to make the dark area on "wood texture".

Press Ctrl + J to duplicate "wood texture", rename new layer "wood texture multiply" and change its Blending Mode to Multiply.

Create new layer upon "wood texture multiply", call it "bottom dark". Then add the dark area to the bottom of wood texture as images show below.

Create new layer under "golden area 2?, call it "golden area 2 shadow". Then make the shadow as images show below.

While holding Shift click on the center of wood texture and drag out to make the circle selection as in image below. Then press Ctrl + J to duplicate this selection, rename new layer "wooden circle".

Press Ctrl + J the duplicate "wooden circle", rename new layer "wooden circle multiply" and change its Blending Mode to Multiply.

Add layer styles to "wooden circle".

Use Custom Shape tool to make the shape as in image below.

Press Ctrl + Enter to change this shape to the selection. At "wooden texture", press Ctrl + J to duplicate this selection, rename "radioactive" and move this layer up, between "bottom dark" and "wooden circle multiply".

Press Ctrl + J to duplicate "radioactive", rename new layer "radioactive multiply". Then change its Blending Mode to Multiply and reduce Opacity to 70%.

Add layer styles to "radioactive".
