Doodle 4 Google

Have you ever been on google and seen the google logo transformed into some google artistic type of logo that expresses a certain day or month, or holiday. Well in this photoshop tutorial I will teach you how to make your own google logo. Since each of these logos has a theme, mines will be about car racing. That's just a theme I decided to make up, but once you know how to do this you can make yours about anything.

Step 1: Open up a new document size 400 by 400. This way we have some room to work in. Once you have the document open take the google logo and copy it into your document. This will be our base in which we will work from.

Step 2: You will need to grap your pen tool, which is located on your tool panle right under the arrow tool. Once you grab this tool trace out the whole google logo. Zooming in helps trace when using the pen tool.

Once you have traced everything go to layers/new layer. Call this layer google. Then go to windows/paths. When the box appears right click on the path. Then make selection. Once the selection is made color it in all black. You can delete the offical google layer after you have made your own.

Step 3: This is where the customization part comes in. We have this black google logo and we can do what ever we want with it. Since I said this one is going to be about car racing. I will be making the o's into wheels. We can start with that first. So make a new layer and call it wheels.

The wheels can be simple, they dont have to be super racing wheels. When we are done with the whole image you will get the point. So once again start by using the pen tool. Make a circle inside the first o, leaving about 4 pixels of border room around it. Then color it in black.

Now in that same circle make another even smaller circle. This time make it white.

Then make another black one inside the white circle.

Step 4: Now repeat all these steps to the other O in google.

They probably look like two eyes starring at you at the moment, but you will see the big picture soon enough.

Step 5: The next step is, is to draw a car like shape above the google logo. Once again like as most things in this tutorial you will be using the pen tool. So go ahead and draw out a car like shape right above the logo. Make a new layer and color it in black. Here is what I came up with.

In order to make it look more like a car, we are going to give the car windows. You've guessed it right. By using the pen tool you will have to draw out some windows. Look it what I did to get some ideas.

Now that its starting to look more like a car lets connect the dots. Connect all the letters to each other just using a straight line. You can do this once again with the pen tool.

And there ya go. You have your google car. Now this is a really simple tutorial on how to make your own doodle 4 google, but if you take enought ime and practise you can make something with color like this.
