Step 1
Open new document (I use really lage size) and fill the green color
(#004915).
Step 2
Open the grass stock. You should cut a little piece of the grass, then
paste to main document and transform it to lager.
Step 3
Change its Blending Mode to Overlay.

Create new layer and draw as show below with brush setting: soft brush,
800px, #929f3a.
Change its Blending Mode to Overlay.
Step 5
Make the bole of grass for new layer

Add the dark area using Burn tool with setting below

Add the light area using Dodge tool with setting below

Following the steps as show below
Step 9
Open its Blending Options to apply the layer style.

Make the leaf with new layer

Use Pen Tool to draw the Path as show below

Set Burn tool as show below. Then Choose Rectangle tool and click righ
on the Path, select Stoke Path with "Burn" in selection box.
Step 13
Draw the black line as show below and apply the layer style (Drop
shadow: Blending mode: white - screen, opacity: 50%, angle: 40 degrees,
distance and size: 5px). Then reduce Opacity to about 17%.

More details for the shadow using Burn tool.

Add the light area using Dodge tool with setting below. Then apply the
layer style as the step 9.

Following the steps as show below.

Draw another leafs that their style are same the first leaf and add more
details for light area.

Press Ctrl + Shift + E to merge all leaf layers into new leaf layer. Go
to menu Filter > Orther > High Pass (radius: 10px).

Go to menu Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contract (Brightness:
10, Contract: 100). Then change its Blending Mode to Soft Light and
reduce Opacity to 30%

Create new groud, tittle it "beetle" and put it at the top of all the layers. I draw the beetle at here.

Add light for the beetle 's wings
