Type: Sine
Undefined Areas: Repeat Edge Pixels

Click OK.


image 12 12. On the current layer, add a layer mask (Layer> Add Layer Mask> Reveal All) and apply a "Clouds" filter (Filter> Render> Clouds) to the layer mask.

image 13 13. With the layer mask selected, use the "Gaussian Blur" tool (Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur) to apply the following properties:

Radius: 30 pixels

Click OK.


image 14 14. On the current layer, apply a "Drop Shadow" layer style (Layer> Layer Style> Drop Shadow) with the following properties:

Blend Mode: Multiply
Color: #000000
Opacity: 15%
Angle: 120º
Use Global Light: Uncheckmarked
Distance: 6
Spread: 0
Size: 17
Contour: Linear
Anti-aliased: Uncheckmarked
Noise: 0
Layer knocks out drop shadow: Checkmarked

Click OK.


image 15 15. On the current layer, apply a "Bevel and Emboss" layer style (Layer> Layer Style> Bevel and Emboss) with the following properties:

Style: Inner Bevel
Technique: Smooth
Depth: 130
Direction: Up
Size: 27
Soften: 10
Angle: 120º
Use Global Light: Checkmarked
Altitude: 30º
Gloss Contour: Linear
Anti-aliased: Uncheckmarked
Highlight Mode:Multiply
Highlight Color: Black
Opacity: 75%
Shadow Mode: Screen
Highlight Color: White
Opacity: 75%

Click OK.


image 16 16. Duplicate the current layer (Ctrl+J).

image 17 17. Use the "Hue/Saturation" tool (Ctrl+U) to apply the following properties:

Hue: 0
Saturation: 0
Lightness: +100

Click OK.


image 18 18. Turn off the visiblity (Click on the eye) for the "Bevel and Emboss" layer style.

image 19 19. Make a selection of the current layer (Ctrl+click on the layer) and create a new layer (Ctrl+Shift+N). Use the "Paint Bucket" tool (F) to fill the selection with the colour #FFFFFF.

image 20 20. With the "Marquee" tool (M), drag the selection towards the top left of the document, similar to where the selection is in the image in this step.

image 21 21. Set the current layer's blending mode to "Screen".

image 22 22. On the current layer, use the "Gaussian Blur" tool (Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur) to select a "Radius" that will blur the edges so that there are no hard edges. Click OK.

image 23 23. Select the layer "Background" and apply a "Lighting Effects" filter (Filter> Render> Lighting Effects) with the following properties:

Light type: Spotlight
On: Checkmarked
Intensity: 13
Focus: 70
Gloss: -100
Material: -100
Exposure: -50
Ambience: 50
Texture Channel: None

Distort the light so that it looks similar to the shape of the light in the image in this step. Click OK.


Egg Tutorial: Final Result 24. To reduce the opacity of the egg white, lower the opacity of the layers "white", "white copy", and "Layer 1".
