Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss
Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss (Contour)
Next we'll represent the beetle's feelers. In this case we'll use the same tools applied before – the Pen Tool (P) and the Convert Point Tool. The layer's color is #A9A9A9
The layer's parameters: Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss
Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss (Contour)
Make a copy of the last represented layer and choose the Free Transform selection to turn over the copy, placing it as it is indicated on the next image:
Next we have to represent the beetle's eyes. Select the Ellipse Tool (U) for this operation.
The layer's parameters: Fill 0%
Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient's parameters:
Make a copy of the layer containing the eye and select again the Free Transform option to turn the copy over to have the same image from below:
Now we should draw the insect's paw, choosing the usual Pen Tool (P) and Convert Point Tool. The layer's color is #C0C0C0
The layer's parameters: Blending Options>Drop Shadow
Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss
Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss (Contour)
Make five copies of the last made layer and choose Free Transform selection to turn the copy around when necessary and place the copies the way indicated below. The layers containing the paws should be situated lower than the previous layers, composing the beetle:
Create a new layer to draw a flame of three colors, using the Elliptical Marquee Tool (M). Then we'll paint the marked area with the Paint Bucket Tool (G). The layer's color is #224DD7
On the next new layer we'll draw the next flame of the color #5BFFFF, applying the same instruments.
Create a new layer again and draw the third layer of the flame, having this time the white color.
Select for each flame's layer the next demonstrated filters. On the first layer we'll apply Filters>Blur>Gaussian Blur
For the same layer we'll apply also Filter>Blur>Motion Blur
For the second layer we must choose the same filters the first layer has.
The last third layer needs the next filter's option: Filters>Blur>Gaussian Blur (the same applied for the first layer)
Merge down those three layers belonging to the flame in a single one (press Ctrl button to mark out the corresponding layers and press then Ctrl+E). Make a copy of the new layer we've got and select the Free Transform option to turn the copy over and place the flame's layer on the left and right sides of the insect.
Create again a new layer (Create new layer) and use a standard brush (Brush Tool (B)) of a large diameter to represent a luminescence on the picture, colored with #55B4E7
Select next shown parameters for the last made layer: Blending mode-Color Burn
On the last stage we'll try drawing the reactive movers of the beetle, selecting the Ellipse Tool (U).
The layer's parameters: Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss
Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient's parameters:
Using the last applied tool, try to make now the exit opening of the reactive engine. The layer's color in this case should be white.
The layer's parameters: Blending Options>Outer Glow
Merge down the layers composing the reactive engines (Ctrl+E). Make a copy of the new layer and select Free Transform option to turn over the copy, placing it the way demonstrated next image.
The picture is finished!
