Step One: Download & Install
In order to complete this tutorial, you will need the following piece: globe.
Install dancer-shape.csh in Photoshop before you open the program, so it is installed for you. Then, open globe.gif.
Step Two: RGB Mode
You need to change globe.gif to RGB mode so that it will let you make new layers. To do this, click "Image", hover over "Mode", and choose "RGB".
Step Three: Draw a Person
Our finished logo will show a person bending and dancing around the globe. Perfectly easy to do with Photoshop shapes.
If you've installed the dancer-shape.csh file, all that you have to do is click your "Custom Shape" tool, locate the right shape, and draw it out on your canvas in black.
Make sure you hold your shift key down while you draw the shape to make it keep proportions. When your shape is finished, right-click its layer and choose "Rasterize Layer".
Step Four: Echo the Circle
A lot of symbolism goes into successful logos. The symbolism in this piece will become ever more obvious - we want to show that the business is worldwide and can easily handle all customers' needs.
To make this symbolism, we're going to use three things: the globe, a person, and a circle that unites both of them.
Using your ellipse (circle) SHAPE tool and black, hold your shift key down and draw a perfect circle behind the globe that touches the tip of the hand and tip of the toe of our person. Right-click and rasterize the layer when you've drawn it.
Step Five: Cut it Out
We don't want the circle filled - it looks silly. So we're going to cut out the center the easy way.
Click "Select" and choose "Load Selection". Leave the settings alone and click OK. Go right back to "Select" and choose "Modify" and click "Contract". Enter 3 in the amount, click OK again. Now, hit the backspace key on your keyboard. This erases the middle - easy!
Use your eraser tool to remove excess past the fingers and toes.
To create different-colored globes, use the "Color Overlay" option in your layer styles menu.
