How to Draw a Cartoon Rabbit (Exclusive Tutorial)


There's joy in the air! Easter weekend's here! Easter and Sunday together make for a basket full of fun! There's joy in the air! And the joy doubles when we celebrate it with friends, family and loved ones.

Let's create an Easter Rabbit for your friends!

Step 1

Create a new document with the below settings.

Step 2

Create a new group. Go to Layer > New > Group or by clicking on the Create a new group icon on the bottom of the Layers palette. Rename it to "Rabbit" Grab the Ellipse tool, on the Options select Shape layers option, set the color to #eee1be and draw this oval shape. Make sure that the layer is created in the "Rabbit" group.

Now go to Blending Options, select Stroke and apply changes below.

Here is the result :). It is a head of our Rabbit.

Now let's draw a rabbit's body. Use the Ellipse tool.

We need to slightly modify the shape of the body.

Edit - Transform - Wrap

Try to create something like this:

In the same manner create rabbit's legs.

Put the layers with legs under the layer with body. And draw a tail with the #fffed2 color.

Now is time to create a rabbit's face :)

As always use the Ellipse tool to create cheeks. I chose the # fffed2 color for cheeks.

It is a time for a rabbit's nose! Draw an ellipse using #f38eb8 color.

Creating a rabbit's mouth. Color: # f4072e. Put this layer under layers with cheeks.

Now let's draw a tooth. Select the Brush Tool(B) and choose a simple hard brush, size - 3 px. Then select the Pen Tool (P) and draw the path of the tooth. Right click - Stroke Path.

Right click - Delete Path.

Fill a tooth with the white color.

Create rabbit's eyes. Use the Ellipse tool.

It is time for a Rabbit's hand! Draw an ellipse.

Go to Edit - Transform - Wrap

Try to create something like this:

Can you imagine a rabbit without a carrot?

Let's make our bunny happy :)

Use Ellipse Tool to create the carrot and Edit - Transform - Wrap to give a carrot shape that we need.

With a help of the Pen Tool create rabbit's hand.

Now add fingers.

Let's return to our carrot. Draw a bunch of green with a help of the Pen Tool(P) and fill it with a green color.

Add black ellipses to eyes.

Create a white ellipse and change its shape (Edit - Transform - Wrap)

Put it on the rabbit's stomach.

Now we will make the rabbit's tail more attractive :)

Create a little ellipse like on the image below.

Duplicate this layer several times.

Select layers and merge them (Ctrl+E)

Then put a new layer under the main tail layer.

It is time for rabbit's ears :)

Create an ellipse and go to Edit - Transform - Wrap

Give your ears any shape you want :)

Create a new layer and fill it with the green color.

Go Edit - Transform - Distort and Edit - Transform - Wrap

Create a new layer again and fill it with the blue color.

Edit - Transform - Wrap

Step 29

Creating clouds is quite simple. Start by creating one shape layer and draw inside the vector mask holding "Shift" key. Once a full cloud is completed just select the paths with Path selection tool, copy and paste them to create multiple copies. Resize a bit by pressing Ctrl+T. Place this layer above the "Sky" layer.
