Making Emoticons


In this tutorial you will be able to learn and create some basic MSN emoticons for every day use.

1. Create a new document in Photoshop, size 18x18 pixels.
2. Now go to the Elliptical Marquee tool, zoom in as close as possible, holding Shift make selection. Go to Layer -> New Layer so you can change it at anytime.

3. Now go to Edit -> Fill and fill it with this color - #F8D202. Now you should have something like this:

4. Now go to Layer -> Layer style and apply the settings which are shown below. Also add the Gradient Overlay as shown with these settings:

5. Now select the rectangular Marquee tool and make selections on the eyes and mouth. Then fill it with black as shown below and you're done.
