Metal Sig

This tutorial will help you make a signature on a metallic surface accompanied by some abstract lines.

image 1

Open a new document that’s 500x120 pixels.

image 2

Go to Filter -> Render -> Clouds

image 3

Go to Filer -> Brush Strokes -> Crosshatch. Apply with the following settings

image 4

image 5

Create a new layer, call it ‘Grey’. It should be above the previous layer.

image 6

Use the Paint Bucket and fill ‘Grey’ with #565656

image 7

Then change the blending on ‘Grey’ to Color Dodge.

image 8

You should have something like this.

image 9

Create another layer, call it ‘Light’. Place it on the top.

image 6

Using a 12px Brush, draw a horizontal across the bottom. Hold the Shift key to make a straight line.

image 12

Go to Filter -> Blur -> Gaussian Blur. Apply with the following settings.

image 13

Now you’re basically done, just add some text to your sig. Here’s how I did mine. I used the font Neuropol at size 30. Then change the layer style to “1px Stroke 0% Opacity”.

Finished product.
