This tut is for the cool tentacles effects that every one loves.
Step 1:
Make new document, any size (preferabaly
a square)
Step
2:
With the rectangular marquee tool make
a rectangle like such over a new layer:
Step 3:
Now choose the color you want the tentacle
to be, make it the foreground(1), then
select a dark shade of the color and set
it as the back ground(2)
Step 4:
Now select the gradient tool with the
colors (1) selected and placeit in the
square with the reflective gradient selected(2).
And place a gradient where the darker
shade is on the outside like such. the
darker egdes will add depth.
Step 5:
Right click the image and select transform
selection, and select perspective and
connect the top points of the gradien
like such:
Step 6:
Right click and go back to transform selection
and just make the sides come close like
this, now its a good time to duplicate
the shape a few times:
Last step:
Go to Filter>Distort>Shear and place
some points alond the till you have the
tantacle shaped to however you like it
or like this:
Now just do step 6 to the tentacles in different shapes till you have what you want, add some effects in the blending options and there you have cool looking tentacles!! Just don't whore the things!!
Here's a tip, if you want metallic tentacles, just select a metal texture...place a rectangle over it with the rectangular marquee tool like such:
Right
click the square and select level via
cut.
Then place black gradients on both like
like such:
Then just follow steps steps 5 and up and you your all set...this is what I came up with
