Web 2.0 Logo Creator

Hi, welcome to my first tutorial on EvoGFX - where I help you to create a Web 2.0 logo, mostly for fun - but maybe serious. Who knows? We will turn the original Nintendo logo and destroy web 2.0ify the logo in this step-by-step tutorial:

1. Firstly, on an empty new page, create two rounded boxes (with a larger blue one and a smaller white one inside). The outside one should be a lovely, professional, Web 2.0 blue such as #005fa2.

2. Add the following layer styles:

- Outer: Outer Glow (Colour: #005fa2, Size: 5), Gradient Overlay (Black to White, 26%).
- Inner: Gradient Overlay (#B2CEE3 -> #697fc7).

3. Add a gloss to the the thing, create a new layer with the elliptical select tool, make a semi-ellipse over the top and fill with white. Turn the opacity down to about 25% and add a white outer glow.

4. Duplicate these files and merge the duplicated files. Flip this vertically and align it at the bottom of the normal section. Turn the opacity down to about 50%.

5. Create a mask on this by clicking the mask button, and using a black to white gradient, and drag from white to black over the area of the reflection (not the entire canvas).

6. Add other web 2.0 things such as:

- Pink/Orange star saying BETA or 2.0
- Put full stops (periods) dashed throughout
- Use blue - a lot

The finished result:

I like how the typeface in the reflection doesn't match the button. Nice touch.
