before you can use this tutorial you have to complete the matrix v1 or matrix v2 tutorial
1.
before you can get to work in imageready, you will have to cut up
your image in photoshop, for example: i started with a 640x480 image,
now i'm going to cut 10 new images of 640x48
name the files: 1.psd, 2.psd, 3.psd, 4.psd.. for easier use in the next step.
you should have 10 images in the end
2. ok, we're half way there. now go and start adobe imageready (ctrl+shift+m) and open all 10 files you just created. create a new document (ctrl+n) make sure the size of the new document is 640x48 (our the same size you used to cut the images in step 1)
3. select 1.psd, select all (ctrl+a), copy (ctrl+c) and paste the selection (ctrl+v) in the new document you created in step 2. repeat this step untill al 10 files have been copied to the new document. this is what your layer palette should look like:
4. in the animation palette, click the duplicate current frame button untill you have a total of 10 frames as shown below
5.
here's the tricky part, stay with me. select frame 1 and click away, in the layers palette,
the eye icons besides all the layers, except for layer 1 and the background layer.
then repeat this step untill you've done all 10 frames and layers
frame 1 = layer 1 + background visible
frame 2 = layer 2 + background visible
frame 3 = layer 3 + background visible
frame 4 = layer 4 + background visible
frame 5 = layer 5 + background visible
..
if you want to change the scrolling direction of the code then follow these
settings:
frame 1 = layer 10 + background visible
frame 2 = layer 9 + background visible
frame 3 = layer 8 + background visible
frame 4 = layer 7 + background visible
frame 5 = layer 6 + background visible
..

6. now for a quick preview, hit the play button on the animation palette looks nice, don't it?
now we're gonna save this nice piece of art. Go to file > save optimized as
7. now, lets have a look, open your image in mozilla or internet explorer or whatever browser you have, sit back and admire your creation
8. extra note: some peeps say that the code runs to fast, here's the solution: duplicate frame 1 then duplicate frame 3 (do not duplicate frame 2, that's the duplicated frame 1, if you want to duplicate the original frame 2 you have to duplicate the current frame 3) then frame 5, then frame 7 and so on and so on..save it and see if it looks better now or you could play around with the delay seconds, underneath every frame you'll see "0sec", click on the little arrow and adjust the settings according to your needs
extra note: if it still runs to fast then this is why: you have a mac. apparently on mac the code
runs twice as fast as on a windows pc
