Dilated eye


Create a dilated eye animation.

Step 1.
Find an image of an eye and crop it to 300 x 300. Save it as a gif file. You can use the one here if you wish.

Step 2.
Open the picture in Image Ready. Open the animation window. Windows -> Animation.

Step 3.
Click on the duplicate frame button in the animation window to create a new frame.

Step 4.
Select the eliptical tool and select the black of the eye. Press ctrl + c to copy the selection. Add a new layer, and paste the selection into the new layer.

Step 5.
Create a duplicate of the eye piece. With the second eye layer selected, use the magic wand tool to select the eye. Press ctrl + t to enter the transform mode. Grow the eye to cover the colored part of the eye. You may need to reposition the black.

Step 6.
Make sure that you have each animation frame displaying the proper layers. The first frame should have the first to layers visable. The second shoula have all 3.

Step 7.
Select the first frame, and press the tween animation frames button. Use the following settings.

Step 8.
Change the frame delay to .1 or .2 seconds for each frame.

Step 9.
Test the animation and save it as a gif file. You can add text to the last frame as I did.
