Halo Style Text

First of all for those who don't know about Halo, it's an single player/online game created by the one and only Microsoft. I thought I'd make a tutorial on how to make your own Halo style text.

Before we start if you'd like to download the Halo font HERE it'd make life easier!

Here we go then, create a new document of any size, I created mine 720x540 and set your background to a dark gray, I used #404040.

Create some text on your canvas, for this tutorial my text will say Halo (for obvious reasons)

Here's my text with nothing added,

Because we're using the Halo font, we've already got the basic look, but if you look on the proper logo you'll see it's got a few effects, so go ahead and add those effects,

As you see the gradient is a custom - Here's the colors I used below,

Once you've created that, press NEW and it'll save the gradient for you.

Now we've applied our effects we should have an almost identical Halo logo, here's how mine looks,

Looks cool right? Now once you learned to create the Halo logo you can do anything with it, I found myself a nice screen shot and placed my text on there,
