Pixelization


We'll begin this tutorial, by creating a new Canvas at a size of 15 by 15 pixel canvas. Next, change the foreground to Black and choose the "Ellipse Tool." Draw four circles as I have done below. Once you are satisfied with the placement of your circles, go to "Edit" then "Define Pattern." Give it a name then click "OK."

Next create a new canvas, then a new layer, then go ahead and choose the "Fill Tool". Fill the canvas with the new pattern so you have the following.

Next, go to the main menu and choose "Select" then "Color Range" and choose "White" for the selection. Click "OK" then go to the main menu again and select "Edit" then "Cut" to rid the White from the pattern layer.

Now right click on the pattern layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Drop Shadow".

Do not click "OK" yet. Still more to do.

Now click on "Outer Glow".

Do not click "OK" yet. Still more to do.

Now click on "Inner Glow".

Do not click "OK" yet. Still more to do.

Now click on "Satin".

Click "Gradient Overlay".

Do not click "OK" yet. Still more to do.

Now click on "Stroke".

You may now click OK.

Next, duplicate the layer twice then hit the eye next to one of the duplicated layers so it is invisible and merge the two new layers. You should now have the following:

Now grab the "Text Tool" and select "Verdana" Bold and set at 62 pixels with Black and type PIXEL in all caps.

Now "Ctrl" click the text layer "PIXEL" to create a selection around it. You can now delete the text layer. Then, go to the main menu and click on "Select" then "Inverse". Next, go back to the pattern layer, then go to "Edit" and lastly "Cut".

Now change the canvas' background color to Black. You should now have the following:

Now right click on the pixel pattern layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Outer Glow".

You may now click OK.

You should now have the following:

Next go to the main menu and select "Filter" then "Pixelate" and lastly "Mosaic" and use the below settings.

You should now have the following:

The Results!!!

Next, go to the main menu once again and select "Filter" then "Stylize" and lastly "Find Edges". I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
