To begin, create a new document at a size of 350 x 250 pixels. Then, download the pattern used to cover the background. Apply the pattern.
Select the "Polygon Tool" and apply the below settings:
Make certain that fffc00 is indeed the foreground color, then draw a star as I have done below.
Next, go to the main menu and choose "Edit" then "Free Transform". While holding in the "Shift" key on your keyboard, angle the star to a 45 degree angle as illustrated below.
Now right click on the star layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Drop Shadow".
Do not click OK yet... still more to do
Now click on "Stroke".
You may now click OK.
I then turned the Fill down to 42% as the image below illustrates.
Select the "Text Tool" and apply the below settings.
Type "Photoshop Tutorials" or your message as I have done below.
Now right click on the text layer and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Drop Shadow".
Do not click OK yet... still more to do
Now click on "Stroke".
You may now click OK.
You should now have the following:
Double click the text layer in the Layers Palette to highlight the text. Then click the
icon on the options palette and use the below settings.
You should now have the following:
Next, go to the main menu and choose "Edit" then "Free Transform". While holding in the "Shift" key on your keyboard, angle the text to a 45 degree angle as illustrated below.
Select the "Text Tool" again and apply the below settings. To make a text layer have to different colors, simply highlight the text that you want black and change that color in the options palette.
The layer style for the below effect is the same as in steps 8 and 9.
Double click the text layer again in the Layers Palette to highlight the text. Then click the
icon on the options palette and use the below settings.
Next, go to the main menu and choose "Edit" then "Free Transform". While holding in the "Shift" key on your keyboard, angle the text to a 45 degree angle as illustrated below.
