Using the Type tool we can type a message of our choice.

Open the Layers styles by clicking on the icon on the base of the layers palette and from the drop down menu select Outer Glow. The 'layers styles' palette will then open with Outer Glow selected for us.

We can change the colour of the glow by clicking on the yellow square (default) then using the colour picker to select a colour of our choice.

Moving the 'Spread' and 'Size' sliders slowly to the right will increase the amount of Outer Glow around the text. Try experimenting with these figures as much will depend on the font and size of our text.

We can take things a stage further by adding some Bevel and Emboss to our text. Clicking on the Bevel and Emboss heading on the left of the Layers Style palette will open the options. Here we can choose different effects for our Bevel and Emboss from the Styles drop down menu. This will really make our text stand out.

When we click 'OK' it will be added as an Effects layer under our text on the layers palette, so we can easily adjust it later even after saving..! This is the best part of using Layers Styles.

Once we are happy we can save our image ready for printing.
