Asphault Texture


Step 1

Start of by creating a new document (ctrl+n) with a transparent background. It should be width-300px height-300px. Select black and a gray color in your palette.

Step 2

First create some clouds. Filter -> Render -> Clouds x2. Next create difference clouds. Filter -> Render -> Difference Clouds x2. Do this until you are satisfied with the color distribution. Too much light color will make the image look shiny.

Step 3

Next choose Filter -> Distort -> Ocean Ripple with a Ripple Size of 9, and a Ripple Magnitude of 12.

Step 4

Almost finished now. Next choose Filter -> Texture -> Craquel

Step 5

If you want, you can add some painted lines onto the asphalt. Use the rectangle marquee to select a strip to paint and a setting of 3px feather. Choose your color - Orange, yellow or white. Choose the paint bucket tool, and use the following settings: Opacity: 80-90% and a tolerance of 35. Paint in the selected area. The cracks in the asphalt will remain.
