Relief Texture

Open a new document. I have set the background to #B7B7B7 and the size to 100x100 px. Grab Zoom Tool and zoom a little.

Grab Rectangular Marquee Tool and make a 1 px width selection. The height has to be the same as the document. Fill the selection with #000000 with Paint Bucket Tool. Rightclick on the layer in Layers-palette and pick 'Duplicate Layer'. Grab Move Tool and place the new layer ONE pixel to the right. You can use to right-arrow on the keyboard. Go to Image > Adjustments > Invert (ctrl+i) to make it white. Activate the layer with the black line and set Opacity to 50% in Layers-palette.

Then activate the upper layer in Layers-palette and go to Layers > Merge Down (ctrl+e).

Rightclick the Line-layer og pick 'Duplicate Layer'. Go to Edit > Transforms > Rotate 90* CW. Use Move Tool to place the left edge into the vertical line.

Create a new layer and zoom to 1200%. Grab Pencil Tool and set the diameter to 1 px in Options Bar. Make sure that the foregroundcolour is #000000.

Start out with making two points which is placed 2 pixels from each other. Rightclick the layer in Layers-palette and pick 'Duplicate Layer'. Activate the Black-point-layer and set the Opacity to 50%. Then activate to duplicated layer and go to Image > Adjustments > Invert (ctrl+i). Then grab Move Tool and hit down-arrow and right-arrow on the keyboard. Go to Layers > Merge Down (ctrl+e).

Then you start duplicating the points several times and place them side by side like mine.

With some lighteffects it looks very great. I have used Filter > Render > Lightningeffects.

You are finish.
