Making a Anti-Terrorism Poster

Hi, I was thinking of writing some tutorial that deals with grunge, darkness, horror. Then I come up with an idea of making a poster against Terrorism. Well this tutorial is not a beginner tutorial. Please proceed if you have a decent knowledge of Photoshop, at least you should know how to apply vector mask. In this tutorial I am not going to explain all the steps, but give more stress on why So let's have a look at our asset. AK 47 - from Google image search

Now let's begin. First create a new Photoshop document, of desired size, background color should be black. Paste the background image on it. Name it BASE Now select the BASE layer and apply Image > Adjustments > Desaturate . Or Shift + Control + U. 3. Now make the opacity level of BASE layer to 45% and apply a new adjustment layer. Change the level settings so that the image looks like this.

Step 6

Now copy he scream image over it and name the layer SCREAM. Apply layer mask (Layer > Layer Mask > Revel All) Then apply gradient mask. Change the layer blending mode to Hard Light. Select the scream layer, apply Image > Adjustments > Level or Control+L to adjust the layer level. Adjust until you get this.

Step 7

Now take the baby image. Paste it in the middle of the page. Apply Image > Adjustments > Desaturate or Shift+Control+U. Change the layer mode to Luminosity. Erase the white part of the head image.

Now the bloodspot. This part will help you to make blood spot in many projects. Take a ink splatter image like this, you can look for similer image on net.

Open the image. Select Edit > Define Brush Preset…Name the brush Now this will act as your brush now. Close the ink-splatter image. Now you should be in the project file. Select the BABY layer. Create a new layer over it. Select your foreground color as #cc0000. And click once over the baby image. You will get a red spot.

Now apply Edit > Transform > Scale to make it bigger enough to cover the baby's head. Name the layer as BLOODSPOT. Double click the bloodspot layer to open the Layer Style window. Check Drop Shadow and use setting (Distance = 0; Size=2; Opacity=25). Check Bevel & Emboss and use following setting.

After all this you should get something like this.

Paste the image of AK 47, desaturate as described in step 2, rotate it clockwise 90 degree and place it at the right corner of the image. Double click to open layer properties window and apply drop shadow.

Now time to write something to make the poster more interesting. Here's mine. You can put anything you like.
