Embroidery Effect

Step 1

Open a new document, 600x370 px. For the background, draw a rectangle covering the canvas and apply the cloth-grey pattern, from the Patterns drop down menu.

Step 2

In the Properties panel, in the Filters area select Adjust color > Hue/saturation and turn the background blue.

Step 3

Select the text tool with the BrushScript font and type some text in plain solid white with a white stroke.

Step 4

For the stroke, we are going to select a stroke category and a texture.

For the stroke: Crayon > basic

For the stroke texture: DNA > 65% with a size of 3

You can experiment with other strokes even Basic

Result: text with stroke texture.

Step 5

Final Image

Embroidery effect

You can apply the embroidery effect to vector objects. Get the Star auto shape, tweak it and build an embroidery design.
