Exclusive Website Review: Webagent007.com "Site of the Month"

The website www.webagent007.com has been appointed as "Site of the Month" (November 2004) at Web Design Library.

Upon first entry into this Flash site, the user is transported to a fantasy world comprised of a destructive combination of Asian anime style and Futuristic vector animation. The site is simply frothing with tiny elements and attributes of secret agents and music which greatly reminds one of scenes from the film Alien Versus Predator. All of which makes visiting the site rather gripping and unpredictable.

Skin for Windows Media Player

The site uses special fonts which unify all sections with one style quite well, which make the work appear well thought out and whole. The section called Arsenal - in which fans can download various wallpapers as well a masterfully designed skin for Windows Media Player in colors and symbols taken from WebAgent007.com’s own site, as several desktop icons - is very well executed.

The reader’s bookmark

However, not all details are smooth. If you check out the title, which will become the image for the reader’s bookmark - you will see that it has a less than clear meaning. The authors naively assume that the brand WebAgent007 is 100% recognizable and, in context of this project, requires no clarification whatsoever.

The Shop section

On the main page as well there is a bothersome Flash loop which is constantly bustling to and fro about the robotic arms holding the logotype. Also, in the section Pimpn Linkage you will find a site index which contains open adult content, which, during the time of uploading the site, calls 4 popup windows, and, after uploading, calls 9 popunder windows all of which are adult in content. This can significantly affect the Family Rating of the studio site itself and as a result can shrink the site’s audience. Further, deeper - the section called The Shop is defunct. Upon trying to enter the store a window appears with the following words: You are not authorized to view this page.

However, all these mistakes overall do not detract from the site’s advantages, and rather to the contrary, leave room for further improvement and honing toward perfection. On the whole, webagent007.com can be considered a good example of a Flash site of the 21st century, with its fine attributes: quality design, integrity of style, helpful content and impressive Flash animation. This work deserves Site of the Month.
