It is in your interest to view samples from the designer. Ask to see websites they have designed for companies that are similar to companies in your industry and other industries. Does the designer offer variation and not repeating just one standard design? Look for different design solutions that work for the site they're on. You should have confidence in your website designer as he needs to be able to show your business to its best advantage.
4. How much of my own time will having a website take up?
