Create a new file in Photoshop by clicking on File>Open. Click on
Set Foreground Color. Choose brown color or a shade of brick color. Click on OK. Select the Paint Bucket Tool. Click on your canvas. It will fill the background with brown color.

Create a New document any size you wish, I chose 800x600, this gives me enough room to work. Make the Background white and then create a new layer above it and using your Rectangle marquee tool draw you out a tall rectangle that is about the coordinates of a sheet of paper.
