1. Open up your render in cinema 4d. Create a new material in the material browser (located in the bottom of cinema 4d) by clicking file > new material.

4. Quick explanation on some of the stuff you just did. In the color tab, you changed the color of your material from the standard grey, to a blue. In the reflection tab, you decreased the opacity of the reflection to prevent it from creating white marks in some areas of your render that looks unattractive. In the Specular settings, you made the surface of your render appear more like metal, and you changed the Model type in the Illumination settings for a better metallic reflection of light. You are now ready to apply this material to your render. To do this, drag the material from the material browser over your render, and release. The material will be applied, and you are now ready to export your render.

5. To set up your save settings, go to render > render settings. You should set up the tabs as follows:

You can choose any resolution you would like, I chose this resolution to speed up the rendering process.

Choose the Path you want your render to go to in the Save Settings. Make sure you remember where you save it for later. Also be sure to save as a TIFF or another file that contains an alpha channel.

6. Exit out of the render settings and go to Render > Render to Picture Viewer. Your render is now being saved into a form we can edit it in Photoshop with! The Next part of this tutorial will show you how to remove everything but the render from the image you just saved (removing the background without using the selection tools!) by using alpha channels, and will get you started on the brushing process. Please continue to Part 3!
