How to Backup Dreamweaver

This tutorial will teach you how to backup your Dreamweaver Behaviors, Extensions, Components, Templates, etc. So that next time when you re-install your Dreamweaver you will still have access to all your Dreamweaver components.

1. First open any folder and go to Tools>Folder Options. We want to change the Folder Options to view hidden files. Because normally these files are not shown to the user.

3. Now go to this folder C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data\MacromediaDreamweaver MX 2004\Configuration Change the USER with your own login name, it can be Administrator or any other custom name that you login to your PC. You can also go to C:\Documents and Settings to select your own username from the displayed usernames.

Once you are in this folder, just copy everything and back it up to your External Hard Disk or CD.

Next time when you re-install Dreameaver, you just have to copy all your backup files and replace the files that reside in C:Documents and SettingsUSERApplication DataMacromediaDreamweaver MX 2004Configuration. And your Dreamweaver will be back to your previous setting, with all the extensions and components in place just as you wanted. I hope this tutorial was a useful one.
