This tool is commonly used in Adobe Photoshop as a Photo Manipulation tool, but it can be very useful in replacing wrong colors with correct colors in photography. Imagine you have a photograph that got stained someway or another. Some of the image retained its original color while other parts lost them. Instead of going through painful cloning techniques, the Color Replacement tool will fix this problem in no time at all!
Notice the huge brown/green mark in the bottom right of this photograph. Ruined photo? Think again! Grab the Color Replacement tool (
) from the toolbar in Adobe Photoshop. Now, while holding the alt key on your keyboard, select part of the ocean that matches the color you want the brown mark to be:
Once you have selected your color, discontinue holding down the Alt key, and begin brushing over the brown area. You will notice that as you brush over it, the color will be replaced with the one that you chose:
This technique is valuable to any photographer looking to publish images with color problems such as the one in this example.
