3d Render Enhancement


Step 1.

Open the render that you would like to apply these effects to in photoshop. If you haven't created any of your own, or would prefer to work along with me with the exact render used in this tutorial please click here to download it.

Step 2.

Create a new layer by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Alt + N on your keyboard.

Click this layer to select it, and drag it below the Render layer as I have done here:

Step 3.

Fill this layer with #000000 (black) using the Paint Fill Bucket ( image 2 ) as I have done here:

Step 4.

Next click on the Render layout to select it:

Press Ctrl + J on your keyboard to duplicate this layer. Name this layer "Motion Blur".

Go to Filter->Blur->Motion Blur and apply the following settings:

Step 5.

Press Ctrl + B on your keyboard to open up the Color Balance Tool. Apply the following settings to add the colors that I used for this tutorial:

Press Okay, result:

Step 6.

Press Ctrl + Shift + Alt + N on your keyboard to create a new layer. Click this to select it, and drag it below the layer we named "Motion Blur".

Press "D" on your keyboard to reset your colors.

Press "X" on your keyboard to swap your foreground, and background colors.

Your foreground and background colors should be set to white/black now.

Select the Brush Tool ( ), press F5 on your keyboard and apply the following settings:

Now just brush in some dotting showing anywhere on the new layer we'd just created. Continue brushing lightly around the edges of the render, until you have something that looks similar to this:

Step 7.

Go to Filter->Blur->Radial Blur and apply the following settings:

Step 8.

Press Ctrl + U on your keyboard to open up the Hue/Saturation window, and apply the following settings:

And that completes the tutorial, here's what I ended up with as my final result:
