Advanced Vortex Tutorial


Step 1. Create a new image mine was 500x500 Filter > Render > Clouds.

Step 2. (repeat this step until you like the looks of it) Filter > Render > Difference Clouds.

Step 3. Filter > Pixelate > Mezzotint: medium strokes.

Step 4. Duplicate the layer.

Step 5. (on the top layer) Filter > Blur > Radial Blur: zoom. 100%. best.

Step 6. (on the bottom layer) Filter > Blur > Radial Blur: spin. 50%. best.

Step 7. (on the top layer again) Set blending mode to "Lighten".

Step 8. (top layer still) Ctrl + E to merge the layers down.

Step 9. Image > adjustments > Hue / Saturation: select "Colorize" and adjust the sliders until you get a color you like.
