Step 1 Converting to Smart Layer
a) Double-click on the "Background" layer to make it editable.
b) Convert it to a smart object: Layer > Smart Objects > Convert to smart Object

Step 2 Shadow and Highlight adjustment
The shadow highlight adjustment isn't a filter, but it acts like a smart filter and can be applied non-destructive.
a) Image > Adjustments > Shadow/Highlights

b) Click the show more options.
c) Move the amount Slider to 100% percent in the shadows and highlights. This will bring all the detail in the image.
d) Adjust the Tonal with in the shadow to 8% and in the highlights to 33%. The total with adjust how exaggerated the effect will appear.
e) Color correction saturates or desaturates the image.
f) In the adjustment section increase the Midtone to 16%

Step 3 Sharpen the image
a) Filter > Sharpen > Unsharp Mask
b) Amount to 176 %
c) Radius to 9.8 pixeles
d) Threshold to 27 levels

Step 4 Add a surrounding shadow
a) Add a Layer Style
b) Choose Inner shadow
c) Move the distance to 0
d) Increase the size of the shadow as much as you desire.

Step 5 Adding Color
For this image I wanted a warmer color and a little more contrast
a) Create a new layer and paint it with this color:

b) Set the blending mode to Color dodge at 14%

c) Duplicate the color layer, these time set the blending mode to Color Burn at 21%
Now all the details are visible and sharp
