Creating an Abstract Text Background


Start by creating a new file. Fill the background with a nice linear gradient.

Type some random text in a new layer. Duplicate the layer two times and name them effect 1, effect 2. effect 3. Now select effect 1 layer.

From filter menu select distort>>twirl.

Apply settings as shown.

Change the color mode to soft light.

Select effect 2 layer. From filter menu select distort>>polar coordinates. Use rectangular to polar mode.

Select effect 3 layer. From filter menu select blur>>radial blur.

Use settings as shown.

Create a new layer and fill with a nice gradient.

Change the color mode to soft light.

Create a new layer and fill it with a nice radial gradient.

Change the color mode to color.
