Ray Effect


  1. Create a new image, any size.
  2. Fill the background with black.
  3. Create a new layer.
  4. Create any large shape like so, may be round may not. And fill it with white.

  5. Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur
       Radius: 20

  6. Filter>Distort>Ripple...
       Amount: 999
       Size: Large
  7. Filter>Blur>Radial Blur...
       Amount: 100
       Blur Method: Zoom
       Quality: Good
  8. Ctrl+F to repeat the blur.
  9. Duplicate the layer by dragging it to the small new layer button. image 3
  10. Merge the two layers bt Pressing Ctrl+D.
  11. Repeat step 10 to duplicate the layer once more.
  12. Click on the first layer (The bottom one)
  13. Chech the "Preserve Transparency" box.
  14. Select a color of your choice and fill the bottom layer.

  15. Thats It. You can add any effect you want, maybe some nice polygons. The most impotant thing is to play around and experiment.
