Rippling Reflection Effect


1. Create a new 400x400 pixel document with a resolution of 100 and name it Crystal. Now press D and fill the document (with Black). Then apply a difference clouds filter TWICE (x2).

2. Next, add chrome with settings [Detail: 5, Smoothness: 7]. Then apply a ripple with settings [Amount: 100%, Size: Large]. Do the ripple filter Three Times (x3) in total.

3. Now apply a radial blur with settings [Amount: 100, Blur Method: Zoom, Quality: Best]. Then put a lens flare in a position similar to mine. The lens flare settings as follows [Brightness: 100%, and Lens Type: 105mm Prime]. You can choose different lens type depending on the outcome you want.

4. Now add an ocean ripple filter with settings [Ripple Size: 9, Ripple Magnitude: 9].

5. Now you can add color to the image by, creating a new layer and filling it with a color of your choice. Then set that layers blending mode to 'Color'. There you have it, a neat little rippling reflection.
